Trail Detour Coming to Make Way for New Water Lines

Calling all Sedgwick County Park Trail users! A portion of the Sedgwick County Park bike/pedestrian trail located just east of the zoo, and running parallel to Zoo Boulevard, will be temporarily closed in October and detoured adjacent to the existing trail. The temporary trail detour was constructed late last week in preparation for the closure of the existing trail. The closure will allow Wichita Water Partners to install finished water lines related to the construction of Wichita’s Northwest Water Facility. Work in the area is anticipated to wrap up early next year, weather permitting.
