Employee Spotlight: Grant Malone, Project Manager

Since 2020, hundreds of workers have been building the state-of-the-art Northwest Water Facility (NWWF) to provide safe and reliable water to more than 500,000 people in the Wichita area. One leader on site is Grant Malone. As a project manager with Alberici Constructors, Malone plays a key role collaborating with multiple partners in the construction of the Northwest Water Facility. He oversees the general activities and planning of all offsite work including structures, scopes, equipment, subcontractors and vendors for the largest capital investment in the City’s history.

Malone’s construction career began in high school working summers as a carpenter and laborer in residential construction. He continued that work while attending Michigan State University (MSU) where he earned his BS in Construction Management in 2013. During his time at MSU, Malone completed two internships with Alberici within the energy market. He later joined the company in 2014 as a Project Engineer. Malone has continued his involvement with MSU’s Construction Management Program serving as a student mentor and a member of the Construction Management Industry Advisory Board since 2017.

During his career at Alberici, Malone’s projects have taken him to a myriad of markets – from constructing a new tower in St. Louis Children’s hospital to managing the steel fabrication on the Louisville City Soccer Stadium. Most of his work focuses on engineering, procurement, and construction and design build delivery methods. Malone brings extensive experience managing large infrastructure projects.

Away from the jobsite, Malone enjoys spending time with his wife Sarah and three children, Kadyn, Makenzie and Paxton. He and his family moved to the Wichita area in 2021 and have enjoyed becoming part of the community. We are so happy to have him on the team!
